The open-ended insert tool 731a/40 turns a torque wrench with a 14 x 18 mm tool holder into an open-ended spanner for 15/16 inch across flats. Because the open jaw is applied to the bolt or nut from the side, fasteners can be tightened to a defined torque even where no ring head or socket fits from above. The head is 53 mm wide and 12 mm high, and the insert tool weighs 177 g.
