Under a stereo microscope every regrip costs time and focus. The Leica ball stage keeps the part in the position once set, turns a full 360 degrees and tilts as well, so angled surfaces and connector edges come squarely into the field of view.

Benefits in use

• Ball bearing with 360 degree rotation, the assembly is inspected all round without regripping.
• Tiltable support, angled solder joints and connector edges can be presented flat to the optics instead of being viewed at a slant.
• Support surface of 100 mm diameter on an outer diameter of 120 mm, boards and small housings rest securely.
• Overall height of around 67 mm, so only a little of the objective working distance is used up and room to work remains.
• Both hands stay free because the position holds without being held, which makes soldering and measuring under the optics easier.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The ball stage is supplied on its own. It is placed on the base plate or the bench surface under the microscope and is not tied to a particular microscope body, the deciding factor is the free working distance of the objective in use. A tilt angle and a statement on ESD behaviour are not available for this ball stage.
