Trolleys and stands inside the ESD protected area have to roll freely and then stand securely at the workstation. This swivel castor with a 50 mm wheel diameter covers both, because it swivels and carries a wheel brake. The wheel body is made from electrically conductive polypropylene, so charge from the structure drains through the tread to the floor. The small diameter keeps the overall height low, which matters on shallow bases and shuttle trolleys.

Application

The castor is fitted to ESD transport systems and to mobile equipment in the EPA, for instance to the bases of workbenches, to material trolleys, shelf trolleys and mobile test rigs. At 50 mm diameter it suits light structures and short routes in production areas where the floor is light in colour and prone to marking. The brake is applied whenever work is done at the trolley or material is transferred. For mounting, the structure needs a flat surface with a hole pattern matching the 60 x 60 mm plate. The range is also available with 75 mm and 100 mm wheel diameters.
