ESD safety clog GX 390 black SB ladies, SOFT nubuck leather, width 10, black/blue - Atlas 49800
Where people change zones several times a day, a slip-on shoe is not a comfort wish but a question of time. The GX 390 black is a ladies clog in SOFT nubuck leather with a steel toe cap that absorbs 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345:2012. What matters for the EPA is the ESD build: in the person-shoe-floor measuring method the resistance stays below 100 megohms.
What sets this model apart
- Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Built as an ESD version, the shoe stays below 100 megohms in the person-shoe-floor measuring method. That is the figure an EPA workstation is judged by, because the wearer static charge drains through sole and floor covering in a controlled way instead of discharging into a component on the walk to the machine. EN ISO 20345 permits a wide band from 100 kilohms to 1,000 megohms for safety footwear and is not on its own sufficient proof for an EPA.
- SB in plain words, and what it does not mean here. SB is the basic requirement of EN ISO 20345 and covers the toe cap, tested at 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. Antistatic properties, heel cushioning and penetration resistance are not part of SB. The dissipative behaviour of this clog does not come from the footwear class but from the ESD build to DIN EN 61340-5-1, and that is what counts inside an EPA.
- Ladies last, not a shrunken men model. The clog is built as a ladies model and supplied in sizes 35 to 43. A narrower heel and less volume in the forefoot are the reason such a last holds where a scaled-down men model slips at the heel.
- Slip-on form for changing at the cleanroom entrance. A clog goes on and off without bending down, which counts in areas where people change zones several times a day. The price is the open heel area, so the model is no substitute for a laced shoe on walking routes or at the loading ramp.
- SOFT nubuck leather, around 2 mm thick. The full-grain cattle leather is built for breathability and a soft feel and needs hardly any breaking in. For companies handing shoes to new staff that is a practical point, because the first day in a new pair does not end in pressure marks.
- Steel toe cap, tested at 200 joules. To EN ISO 20345 the cap withstands 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. That is the full protection level of the standard, regardless of how light the rest of the shoe is built.
- MPU Light sole technology. The sole is built for low weight, which matters on a clog that is not laced to the foot when walking. The 3D cushioning system of pressure-relieving insole and responsive MPU sole absorbs the impacts that would otherwise go straight into heel and knee.
- aktiv-X functional lining. The lining regulates moisture actively and makes the shoe dry quickly after the shift. It does not stain, is skin-friendly and abrasion-resistant, which matters where shoes are worn in rotation by several people.

Areas of use
Electronics manufacturing and EPA workstations, test and measuring benches, laboratory, light assembly and areas with frequent zone changes. The clog is intended for standing and seated work at a fixed place. For long walking distances, ramp work or areas with a nail hazard it lacks the closed heel area and the penetration protection, and a laced S1P or S3 shoe belongs there instead.
