The Boston is the clog many people know from private life, here in the ESD version for the protected working area. Footbed and outsole are both built in ESD design and tested to DIN EN 61340. At 684 g per pair in narrow width it is the light option for people who mostly stand in a clean room or at the placement line and cover short distances.

What sets this model apart

• ESD protection across the whole chain of cork latex footbed and cushioning EVA outsole, tested to DIN EN 61340. DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires person, shoe and floor together to stay below 100 MOhm in an ESD protected area so that the wearer's charge drains before it reaches a component.
• Anatomically shaped cork latex footbed, the core of the Birkenstock design. It supports the longitudinal arch and spreads the load across the whole surface instead of concentrating it on heel and ball.
• Suede leather insole. The open pored surface takes up moisture and keeps the foot climate pleasant even during vigorous physical activity.
• Smooth leather upper in black with an individually adjustable metal pin buckle. The instep can be adjusted with it, while the shoe itself is cut in narrow width.
• Net weight stated by the manufacturer is 684 g for the sales unit of one pair. The open heel makes it a fast change shoe for the air lock area.
• No toe cap and no safety class to EN ISO 20345 or EN ISO 20347. The Boston ESD is an occupational shoe without toe protection and does not belong where falling parts are to be expected.
