The ERGO-MED 1605 XP is built for exactly that situation and is released under DGUV 112-191 for certified orthopaedic modifications. Resistance still stays below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

What the shoe delivers

  • Body-shoe-floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The footwear standard alone only calls for the antistatic range from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm, so the ESD proof sits below that and protects the component, not just the wearer.
  • Class S1P is S1 with added penetration resistance. It covers a closed seat region, antistatic construction, an energy absorbing heel area and the protective toe cap.
  • alu-tec aluminium toe cap, tested to EN ISO 20345 for 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. Aluminium weighs less than steel, shifts the centre of gravity towards the midfoot and creates no cold bridge inside the shoe. XP penetration-resistant insert made from a high-tech textile containing aramid fibres. Metal free, light, thermally neutral and flexible along its length, which lowers the risk of twisting an ankle and prevents cold bridges.
  • MPU INNOFLEX outsole system. The CLOUDZONE in the heel absorbs impact forces, the MPU midsole cushions across the full surface and returns energy into the push-off.
  • Mesh upper with an air texture for constant air circulation and a fit that wraps the foot closely without pinching. aktiv-X functional lining, tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, abrasion resistant, skin friendly and permanently moisture regulating.
  • Width 14 belongs to the special widths of the Atlas multi-width system and covers feet for which even extra wide width 12 is not enough.

Standards and conformity

The shoe is built to EN ISO 20345 in class S1P SRC and carries the ESD marking to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Atlas guarantees a body-shoe-floor resistance below 100 MOhm for it. The footwear standard alone only defines the antistatic range from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm. DGUV 112-191 names 100 kOhm as the lower limit so that limited protection against dangerous body current is retained for work up to 230 volts.
