The Ergo-Med line is the Atlas answer to feet that need more than a standard fit. The ERGO-MED 360 is not only released for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191, Atlas also lists it for certified orthopaedic modifications such as sole and heel raises. As an ESD shoe it keeps the resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

This version carries width 12 from the Atlas multi-width system. It starts above the already generous standard width 10 and creates room across the forefoot, which matters all the more once an insole sits inside the shoe.

Key benefits

  • Dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm in the person plus shoe plus floor method, keeping the wearer charge away from the component
  • Protection class S1 SRC to EN ISO 20345 with a closed heel, energy absorption in the heel area and a toe cap rated for 200 joules and 15 kN
  • Certified by Atlas for orthopaedic modifications to DGUV rule 112-191, so for sole and heel raises and not only for insoles
  • clima-stream concept of breathable upper, thermoregulating lining and Klima Komfort insole, tuned to an in-shoe temperature around 32 degrees
  • MPU INNOFLEX System guiding the load along one continuous line from heel to toe
  • MPU REBOUND SYSTEM for pressure relief and cushioning while standing and walking through a full shift
  • SportLine upper in black and royal blue, light and airy in cut

Areas of use

Intended for assembly and test work in electronics, for workshops, stores and logistics and for every workplace where insoles or an orthopaedic modification have to be worn. The S1 shoe is not designed for wet floors or sharp objects, since it has neither a water-repellent upper nor penetration resistance.

Standards and conformity

The classification EN ISO 20345 S1 SRC means a closed heel area, antistatic construction, 20 joules of energy absorption in the heel and a fuel-resistant outsole. SRC covers the slip test on ceramic tile with detergent plus the test on steel flooring with glycerine.

For its ESD models Atlas guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm, that is below 10^8 Ohm, measured person plus shoe plus floor to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The footwear standard EN ISO 20345 contains no ESD test of its own and only requires antistatic shoes to stay between 10^5 and 10^9 Ohm. Anyone running an EPA to DIN EN 61340-5-1 therefore needs the tighter ESD figure rather than the antistatic range alone.

To EN ISO 20345 the toe cap withstands an impact of 200 joules and a static compression of 15 kN. The shoe is category II personal protective equipment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and Atlas publishes the EU declaration of conformity for the model.
