On temperature control lines and lab equipment every drop released at disconnection is noticed. The Nitto Kohki Compact Cupla carries an automatic shut-off valve in both socket and plug, so only 0.23 mL escapes per disconnection, and it works up to 1.0 MPa.

• Shut-off valves in both socket and plug (two-way shut-off) keep spillage to 0.23 mL per disconnection and air admixture to 0.34 mL per connection
• Working pressure up to 1.0 MPa at a maximum outer diameter of 17.5 mm, so the coupling fits small bore piping
• Body in brass or stainless steel SUS 304, both corrosion resistant, with identical dimensions in either material
• FKM seal as standard for -20 °C to +180 °C, EPDM available on request for -40 °C to +150 °C
• Free cross-section of 8.8 mm² on the threaded and ø6 x ø8 versions, and once coupled the fluid flows in either direction
• Operational under vacuum down to 0.13 Pa in the connected state

Series comparison

Choose COMPACT CUPLA when the line has to shut off on both sides at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2}: MICRO CUPLA, SMALL CUPLA and SUPER CUPLA work at the same pressure but are one-way shut-off. Compared with CUBE CUPLA, whose shut-off depends on the combination of valved and valveless socket and plug, the two-way shut-off is present here in every combination. For 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2} and above, the range covered by HI CUPLA 200, FULL BLOW CUPLA, LINE CUPLA 200, HI CUPLA ACE or LEVER LOCK CUPLA, this series is not rated.

Compatibility

Sockets and plugs of the Compact Cupla connect with each other regardless of end configuration, and once coupled the fluid may flow from either the socket or the plug side. Vacuum suitability down to 0.13 Pa applies in the connected state only. On the tube nut versions the working pressure and temperature range depend on the tube material and its dimensional tolerance.

Standards and compliance

The threaded end is 1/8 inch with a maximum tightening torque of 5 Nm in brass and 9 Nm in stainless steel SUS 304, on the tube barb the figures are 5 Nm and 7 Nm, sealing materials are fluoro rubber (FKM) and ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM).
