Elastic Wrist Strap with 2 m Coiled Cord, 10 mm Socket Both Ends - Desco

A wrist strap that is ready to use out of the bag: elastic band and yellow coiled cord come together. Conductive fibres on the inside make skin contact below 1 x 10⁵ ohms without any metal touching the skin. The 1 megohm resistor in the cord limits the current through the body in a fault. The bands come in several colours, useful to mark areas or visitors.

Applications

Personnel grounding at seated ESD workstations in electronics assembly, repair, test and laboratories. Connect the cord to an earth bonding point (EBP), never clip it to the edge of a mat.

Standards

The 1 megohm resistor in the cord meets the IEC 61340-5-1 personnel grounding requirements, tested per ANSI/ESD S1.1. Test the complete system of person, band and cord regularly, ideally at the start of each shift with a wrist strap tester.
