White shows at a glance when a coat belongs in the laundry. That is why this version lives in cleanroom ante areas, measuring rooms and anywhere cleanliness has to stay visible. 155 g/m² compact cotton with polyester and conductive yarn, surface resistance of 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms as measured by STFI.

In gowning areas, measuring cabins and calibration labs one rule applies. What nobody sees does not get cleaned. A white coat puts every contamination on display and turns the change interval into an observation instead of an estimate.

The fabric behind it holds 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester and 4 % conductive yarn at 155 g/m². Compact cotton yarn is spun more densely than ordinary ring yarn, so fewer fibre ends stand out and the garment sheds very little into its surroundings. In an ante area that is exactly what counts.

A notched lapel collar, a concealed press stud placket and sleeve width set by press studs keep the coat practical in daily service. Smaller quantities ship directly from our own warehouse.

Your benefits

  • Contamination stays visible: Grease, dust and flux spatter show up immediately on white fabric. Coats go to the laundry by condition rather than by calendar week, which makes control in gowning areas straightforward.
  • Low linting near open assemblies: Compact yarn releases few fibres. Where housings are open, optics are aligned or adhesive is curing, every fibre avoided is one fault source less.
  • 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms measured: STFI determined surface resistance at 23 °C and 25 % relative humidity. That figure can be checked and it replaces the usual unsupported claim that a coat is ESD ready.
  • Small parts are found again: A 0402 chip that jumps away or an M2 screw stands out clearly against a light fabric. It saves the search under the bench and keeps stray parts out of the next assembly.
  • Concealed press stud placket: The studs sit beneath a fabric flap. No metal scrapes across a painted front panel and no button catches on a cable harness while the wearer leans over the bench.
  • Twelve sizes from stock: 3XS to 6XL covers production, laboratory and visitor demand. The size chart is provided as a PDF in the Downloads tab and should reach the department before the first order.

Material and fabric

The blend of 48 % cotton and 48 % polyester brings together what a work coat has to deliver at the same time. Cotton absorbs moisture and keeps the climate pleasant across a full shift, polyester holds seam and cut in shape after every wash. The remaining 4 % is conductive yarn, present throughout the weave.

At 155 g/m² the coat is light enough to be worn over normal work clothing in summer and substantial enough not to look sheer. Compact cotton yarn contributes a smooth handle and a surface that gives off few particles. With white that smooth surface is a second gain, because dust finds less to hold on to.

  • compact cotton yarn, low linting

Dissipative performance and wash resistance

STFI tested dissipative behaviour and surface resistance to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016 and measured 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms at 23 (+/- 1) °C and 25 (+/- 5) % relative humidity. The low humidity value is no accident, because dry air is the unfavourable case and during the heating season it is everyday reality in many halls.

The conductive yarn keeps working after repeated washing and wearing. The basis is high grade silver yarn processed in a method of our own, which binds the conductive element firmly into the weave rather than laying it on the surface. A white coat can therefore go through industrial laundry without turning dissipation into an unknown.

Construction in detail

The notched lapel collar and the concealed press stud placket give the coat a quiet front with no bare metal at bench height. The patch chest pocket on the left takes a pen and a test record, while the two side pockets are made with slanted openings and remain reachable when seated.

A sweat guard protects the neck, which is where a light coloured coat looks tired first. Sleeve width is adjusted with press studs, and that matters at a microscope or when reaching into an ESD box. Side bust darts shape the ladies' cut and the ESD logo sits on the right side pocket.

Fit and size range

Twelve sizes from 3XS to 6XL are available. That is enough for a whole department and for the coats kept ready at the EPA entrance for visitors, suppliers and auditors. Every size is made to the same specification, so a later order for an individual changes nothing about how the department looks.

Since the coat is worn over the wearer's own clothing, a look at the measurement chart pays off before the first order. It is available as a PDF in the Downloads tab of this product page and lists the dimensions per size, so a collective order goes through without returns.

White on the shop floor

White is the established colour for areas with a cleanliness requirement, for metrology, calibration and the zone in front of a cleanroom. The reasoning is plain. A light surface reveals every mark, and what is noticed also gets dealt with. A white sleeve additionally reflects light back onto the work area instead of swallowing it.

For customer visits and audits, white is also the colour that makes a production area look orderly. That only holds with a white which survives many wash cycles without drifting towards yellow, and reactive dyeing of the cotton is exactly what keeps it there. A matching set of coats in circulation says more than any notice on the wall.

Care and service life

The coat is intended for commercial industrial laundry. Polyester in the weave holds shape and seams, the compact cotton yarn hardly distorts in the dryer, and the dissipative property remains across many wash cycles. Temperature and process are governed by the care label in the garment.

Finishing and custom versions

Embroidery and printing up to 160 °C are possible, and a sample print beforehand is advisable. Company logos, sleeves with conductive ribbed cuffs, a press stud pocket and a contrast version are produced on request, as are special colours outside the catalogue range. Ask us for a quotation.

Standards and testing

Dissipative behaviour and surface resistance were tested to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016 at STFI, with 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms measured at 23 (+/- 1) °C and 25 (+/- 5) % relative humidity. Further ESD standards are not the subject of any test or certification for this article.
