In a cleanroom ante-area, at final inspection and anywhere a customer walks the line, clothing shapes the first impression. White is uncomfortably honest about it. Every mark shows at once, and that is the point. Contamination gets noticed and dealt with instead of brushing along an open assembly unseen for a whole shift.

Underneath the appearance sits the actual function. The fabric weighs 155 g/m² and consists of 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester and 4 % conductive yarn. It carries away the charge that builds as an operator stands, reaches and turns. STFI measured a surface resistance of 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohm at 23 °C and only 25 % relative humidity.

Construction follows the rest of the series. Lapel collar, concealed snap placket, three pockets and a sweat guard running across the neck.

Your benefits

  • Contamination is visible immediately: On white, every smear of oil, every abrasion mark and every trace of flux stands out. In a cleanroom ante-area or at final inspection that is a control instrument rather than a drawback.
  • Lint free compact yarn: Compact spinning bundles the fibres more tightly so fewer fibre ends stand proud. Fewer particles end up on open connectors and freshly populated boards.
  • 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohm to DIN EN 61340-5-1: The figure comes from STFI and was recorded in a dry test climate of 25 ±5 % relative humidity, which is precisely the condition under which charging becomes a real problem.
  • Lapel collar, tidy either way: The jacket sits well open or closed. For plant tours, customer audits and photography at the line nobody has to change clothes beforehand.
  • White carries print and embroidery: Company marks, department codes and names come out clearly on a light ground. Printable up to 160 °C and suitable for embroidery, sample print recommended first.
  • Twelve sizes, 3XS to 6XL: One series covers the entire headcount of a department. Sizes 3XL through 6XL follow the same pattern, so no second model has to be listed alongside.

Fabric and material

The base is compact cotton yarn blended with polyester: 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester and 4 % conductive yarn at 155 g/m². Cotton provides breathability, polyester keeps front edge, collar and pocket borders on their line. White workwear also stands or falls on colour stability, and reactively dyed fabric greys far more slowly in industrial laundering.

  • 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester, 4 % conductive yarn
  • Fabric weight 155 g/m²
  • Compact yarn, lint free and low in particles
  • Colour stable thanks to reactive dyeing

Lasting dissipative performance and wash resistance

The conductive yarn is woven into the cloth at 4 % rather than applied to it. It cannot flake off and it cannot be washed out. High grade silver yarn is worked in through a process of our own. For spot measurements during an EPA audit that is a better starting position than a surface finish.

Construction in detail

The lapel collar is cut to lie flat so the jacket does not gape when worn open. A sweat guard runs across the neck, where the fabric turns damp first in warm hall air. Closure is a concealed snap placket. On the left there is a patch chest pocket, joined by two side pockets with slanted openings and the ESD logo on the right.

Fit and size range

Production covers twelve sizes: 3XS, XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL and 6XL. Everything from the smallest to the largest build comes out of one series. The large sizes keep collar, placket and pocket layout unchanged. The size chart is a PDF in the Downloads tab of this page.

Why white

White belongs in the bright parts of a plant: cleanroom ante-areas, final inspection, the calibration lab, prototype build, training and visitor zones. Brightness under inspection and magnifier lamps is a second argument. White sleeves throw less shadow onto the workpiece than dark ones, and two hours of inspection make that case on their own.

Applications

  • Ante-areas and airlocks in front of a cleanroom
  • Final inspection, visual inspection and quality assurance under magnifier lamps
  • Prototype build and calibration laboratories with customer traffic
  • Training, visitor and tour zones inside an EPA
  • Semiconductor stores and handling of unpackaged components

Care and service life

The jacket is released for industrial laundering and runs in a commercial wash pool. The polyester share keeps collar and placket in shape, while reactive dyeing keeps the white tone fresh for longer. Conductivity is retained over many wash cycles. The sewn-in care label is binding.

Finishing and custom versions

White is the most rewarding ground for decoration. Printable up to 160 °C and suitable for embroidery, with a sample print recommended beforehand. Snap fasteners or a pocket in a contrasting execution, additional equipment details and colours outside the catalogue range are arranged on request. Ask us for a quotation.

Standards and testing

Testing to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016 for dissipative behaviour and surface resistance was passed successfully at the STFI test institute. The measured value lies between 10⁵ and 10⁷ ohm at 23 ±1 °C and 25 ±5 % relative humidity. Further ESD standards form the framework, but no certification against them exists.
