Why does a body voltage below 35 V matter?

ANSI/ESD S20.20 and IEC 61340-5-1 require low personnel charge for particularly sensitive devices. The usual 100 V limit is not sufficient for class 0 components. Mipolam Biocontrol ESD+ stays below 35 V in the test with ESD footwear.

Why does the data sheet list two resistance figures?

Gerflor states both the normative limit and the actual laboratory measurement. Normatively, a resistance below 10^9 ohms is declared to IEC 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD S20.20, while the laboratory measurement puts Rgp and Rpp below 10^6 ohms.

Which colours are available?

Mipolam Biocontrol ESD+ is produced in one colour: 1000 Graphite, NCS 4005-R80B, light reflectance value 29.7. If several colours are needed for zoning, Biocontrol EL5 offers four shades, provided a 100 V body voltage limit is acceptable.

Mipolam Biocontrol ESD+

Mipolam Biocontrol ESD+ is the covering for cases where the usual 100 V body voltage limit is not enough. To IEC 61340-4-5 and ANSI/ESD STM 97.2 the charge stays below 35 V. The homogeneous vinyl is 2 mm thick, supplied as a 200 cm x 20 m roll, and is suitable for cleanrooms. Measured in the laboratory, resistance to ground is below 10⁶ Ω; the normative figure to IEC 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 is below 10⁹ Ω.
