The Hakko FS-100 is a specialized chemical paste formulated to restore oxidized soldering iron tips through retinning. This maintenance product removes oxidation buildup and restores proper solder wetting on tip surfaces, extending tip life and improving soldering quality.

Applications

The FS-100 is ideal for maintenance of soldering iron tips in professional and hobby soldering environments. Use when solder no longer wets properly on the tip surface, indicating oxidation buildup. Recommended for lead-free solder applications.

Cleaning Procedure

• Heat soldering iron to approximately 350°C
• Apply FS-100 paste to the oxidized tip
• Wipe away excess paste with a cleaning sponge or cleaning wire (Hakko FT-700 recommended)
• Feed fresh solder to the tip and verify wetting
• Repeat steps 2–4 until solder wets properly on the tip surface
• Apply sufficient solder to cover the tip completely to prevent future oxidation
