Long-sleeve piqué knit T-shirt from the HABETEX arc knit HB-MODarc line, arc protection class 1 (4 kA). Worn under a blouson or jacket, it avoids the risk of ordinary synthetic shirts melting in an arc event. Sizes XS to 4XL.
Under an arc flash jacket the layer next to the skin matters too. This long-sleeve shirt is made of 54 % modacrylic, 44 % cotton and 2 % carbon and is rated class 1 at 4 kA. The piqué knit wears like a normal T-shirt.
Electricians in switchgear, distribution boards and test bays, as a base layer under an HB-MODarc blouson or jacket.
The 4 kA designation corresponds to class 1 in the box test to IEC 61482-1-2. Not an ESD item, not intended for EPA areas.
