On an air line every second lost during a tool change counts. Nut Cupla runs at 1.5 MPa working pressure with one-way shut-off in the socket, and the 200 series versions are coupled by simply pushing the plug in.
- Working pressure of 1.5 MPa (15 kgf/cm2) for compressed air, with a chrome-plated steel body.
- One-way shut-off with the valve in the socket, which is why the fluid has to run from socket to plug.
- The 200 series versions connect without pulling back the sleeve, which cuts connection time.
- A revised valve design lowers pressure loss and raises flow rate by 15 percent over the previous model.
- End-face seal when coupled instead of an external O-ring, so exhausted lubrication cannot damage the seal.
- Nitrile rubber NBR seal for -20 to +60 °C, intended for air rather than water or oil.

Operating principle
- For connection to urethane hose, braided hose.
- No hose clamp required.
- Fitted with hose guard nut to prevent possible kinking.
- HI CUPLA for connection to braided hoses is now available.
- Nut types are available in HI CUPLA Series and HI CUPLA 200 Series.
- Hose guard nut type available to prevent hose kinking.
- To mount on hose, simply slide it over the nipple and tighten the nut.
- The design to tighten outside of hose reduces hose slip away or fluid leaks.

NUT CUPLA is the choice where the coupling sits on urethane or braided hose and the hose has to be held by a threaded nut rather than a hose clamp; the other one-way shut-off series in this group at 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2}, such as HI CUPLA BL, LOCK CUPLA 200, ROTARY LINE CUPLA and ROTARY PLUG, are selected for their locking or swivel function rather than for the hose mounting. The hose guard nut versions (PNG, 200-SNG) add protection against kinking, and ROTARY NUT CUPLA combines the nut mounting with a ball bearing swivel mechanism. If spill on disconnection is the deciding point, COMPACT ZEROSPILL CUPLA at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} is two-way shut-off, while NUT CUPLA is one-way shut-off and requires flow from socket to plug.

Compatibility
The coupling is interchangeable with Hi Cupla models 20, 30 and 40 and with the corresponding models of the Hi Cupla series. Fluid must run from socket to plug, and the range is not suitable for vacuum service in either the connected or the disconnected condition.
Standards and compliance
Thread ends are supplied in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch as R male and Rc female threads, maximum tightening torques are 14 Nm, 22 Nm and 60 Nm, and the materials used are chrome-plated steel and nitrile rubber (NBR).
