ThermoMax tips combine the same inside diameter with a slimmer outside diameter than the matching ThermoDrive tip. The 1.02 mm I.D. takes heavier leads such as pin headers and connectors.
Benefits
- 1.02 mm I.D.: fits over the lead with clearance so air and solder are drawn through the tip
- 2.2 mm O.D.: for pads slightly larger than the tip, so it never touches the laminate
- Slimmer O.D. than the ThermoDrive tip with the same I.D., suited to smaller pads
