Multi couplings
The Nitto Kohki Multi Cupla MAM Type is a multi-circuit quick coupling made of brass that connects and disconnects several pneumatic lines simultaneously. The range covers plugs (MAM-1TP) and sockets (MAM-1S) in nominal sizes 4, 8, 12, and 16 mm. NBR seals on the socket types handle dry and oil-mist compressed air; the plug-side TP types operate without a seal.

Typical applications: Tool-change systems on machining centres, fixture changeover in factory automation, multi-circuit pneumatic supply on transfer lines, and any application requiring several compressed-air circuits to be connected or disconnected simultaneously and repeatably.

Operating principle

MULTI CUPLA MAM Type suits manual plate changes on air lines at 0.7 MPa {7 kgf/cm2}, where a valve on the socket side alone is sufficient. Where the ports must stay closed on both sides, MAM-A Type and MAM-B Type are rated 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} with two-way shut-off, and MAS Type and MAT Type reach 7.0 MPa {71 kgf/cm2}. MALC Type covers 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} up to 25.0 MPa {255 kgf/cm2} depending on the version.

Interchangeability and size groups
No connection is possible between plates with different number of ports.
