Tinning stranded wire ends in a mini solder pot mostly costs time holding the pot steady in the handpiece. This stainless steel fixture locks a TSS08R series pot in position on the Quick TS8, after which only the workpiece is moved. The fixture weighs 0.11 kg and occupies 230 x 160 mm.

Why it works at the bench

• The pot stays fixed, so the part is dipped instead of the pot being chased, which shortens the dwell time per conductor.
• Stainless steel holds its shape next to the heated pot and resists flux vapour.
• Three pot sizes are provided for, 12 x 14 mm, 14 x 14 mm and 17 x 10 mm, covering fine strands up to wider terminal tabs.
• At only 0.11 kg the fixture can be repositioned on the bench without rebuilding the setup.
