Ground pads, connector tabs and heavy stranded wire pull heat away faster than a fine tip can replace it. The TSS08-6D answers with 6 mm of contact width and moves the heat over a short cone straight into the joint, because tip and heating element form one unit inside the cartridge.

What the geometry does

• Blade width of 6 mm, the widest straight chisel in the TSS08 range, so a broad contact reaches temperature in one approach.
• Blade thickness of 0.9 mm keeps the blunt chisel slim enough to reach in between neighbouring terminals.
• 5 mm of tinned length gives a solder reservoir across the full working width rather than only at the edge.
• Short cone behind the blade puts the thermal mass close to the working face and supports the set temperature during recovery.
• Thermocouple inside the tip measures where the soldering happens, not back in the handle.
• A chip in the cartridge stores its individual calibration value, so the station shows the corrected reading again after every tip change.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Intended for terminal blocks, cable lugs, header strips, plated through holes tied to a ground plane and for tinning stranded wire. For 0402 parts or fine pitch packages the blade is too wide, and the same series offers needle and pencil shapes for that work. Supplied as a single cartridge tip without an iron. It runs in the QUELKTSS80A iron of the QUICK TS8 and TS8+ stations, whose standby function extends tip life.
