Description
With the Weller Magnastat system, temperature control sits inside the soldering tip itself. When cold, a ferromagnetic sensor attracts a permanent magnet and closes the heater circuit. Once the tip reaches its Curie point, the sensor loses its magnetic pull and the heater switches off. This is how the CT5 A8 holds a constant 425 °C without any setting on the iron.
