Bosch Rexroth Tightening Technology
TASS Torque Testing
TASS (Tool Analysis and Setup System) is used to test and set up nutrunners. The TR1 to TR4 brake test elements simulate a joint and record torque, angle and linearity of the installed tool in one run, while adapters match the holder to hex socket, hex head, Torx or internal thread. Wrench inserts, charger and battery complete the range. The nutrunners themselves are under Handheld Nutrunners and Tightening Systems.

How to choose TASS Torque Testing
What matters when choosing: properties, comparison and typical applications.
Selection criteria
| Criterion | Options | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Brake test element | TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4 | TR1 from 1 Nm, TR2 up to 35 Nm, TR3 up to 100 Nm, TR4 up to 260 Nm |
| Working range | Staggered ranges per element | The target torque of the tool under test should fall within the element range, for example 20 to 40 Nm on a TR3 |
| Adapter | Hex socket and hex head, internal and external Torx, 5-lobe, internal thread | Matching the element size and fastener profile, from M3 to M12 |
| Blank | Adapter blanks TR1 to TR4 | For custom profiles not available as standard parts |
| Wrench insert | 9x12 and 14x18 insert, square drive 3/8 to 3/4 in | Up to 1000 Nm |

FAQ
- What does TASS stand for?
- Tool Analysis and Setup System. It is used to test and set up nutrunners with brake test elements.
- Which brake test element do I need?
- The one whose working range includes the target torque of the tool. TR1 covers small torques from 1 Nm, TR4 joints up to 260 Nm.
- What are the adapters for?
- They match the element holder to the real joint, such as hex socket, hex head, Torx or internal thread. Adapters are available for each size TR1 to TR4.
- What does the brake test element measure?
- Torque, angle and linearity of the nutrunner in one run, in its installed state.
