Metcal SSC 600 series soldering cartridge with a fixed tip temperature of 357 °C, so no calibration is required. The chisel face of 1.5 mm width transfers heat over a large area to pad and lead. Description
Temperature sensitive components do not tolerate an overheated tip. The SSC-638A cartridge of the SSC 600 series uses Metcal SmartHeat induction technology and holds the tip temperature constant at 357 °C, controlled by the Curie point of the heater layer instead of a sensor.
