Soldering tips SSC
Soldering and desoldering tips
The SSC series covers series 600 temperature class (357 °C) soldering tips for Metcal MX handpieces. Geometries range from conical tips (0.51 mm, 11-15 mm length) through 30° angled conical and straight chisel to hoof format (2.3 mm width). With 46 available variants, the SSC range provides a focused tip programme for standard soldering tasks in SMT and through-hole assembly.
| Model | Shape | Dimensions (W x L mm) |
|---|---|---|
| SSC-601A | Conical | 1 x 15.2 |
| SSC-622A | Conical | 0.51 x 11.4 |
| SSC-625A | Chisel | 1 x 11 |
| SSC-626A | Conical bent 30° | 0.51 x 11.4 |
| SSC-636A | Chisel 30° | 2.5 x 9.9 |
| SSC-637A | Chisel 30° | 1.78 x 9.9 |
| SSC-638A | Chisel | 1.5 x 10 |
| SSC-639A | Hoof | 2.3 x 17.8 |
Straight conical - SSC-601A/622A for spot soldering and lead tacking, tip 0.51-1 mm; length 11-15 mm depending on access
Chisel - SSC-625A/636A/638A for SMD pad soldering; 30° versions ease lateral access in dense layouts
Conical bent 30° - SSC-626A where straight tips cannot reach; same diameter class as SSC-622A
Hoof SSC-639A - 2.3 mm width for track soldering and ground pad connections
Typical applications: Hand soldering in SMT production and rework of small SMD components (0402 to 1206), through-hole soldering of pins and connectors, repair and cable assembly in electronics workshops, and laboratory use at development benches requiring frequent tip changes.
