The heater sits inside the cartridge itself and the temperature is maintained inductively, so neither calibration nor readjustment is needed.

Applications

The cartridge is used at hand soldering benches in electronics production, repair and prototype work. The narrow chisel face matches through hole leads, chip packages and terminal blocks on mixed technology boards. The low tip temperature limits heat input into sensitive components and board material.

The STTC-099 cartridge fits the MX-H1-AVA and MX-RM3E hand pieces and runs on the Metcal MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 systems.
