A rigid aluminium arm has a fixed reach: if the joint being soldered sits at the far edge of the bench, the nozzle no longer gets close enough to the fume source. The rotatable extension joint FT-3417N extends the arm and at the same time adds a degree of freedom for aiming the extraction nozzle.

Applications
Extending solder fume extraction workstations with an aluminium arm when the fume source lies outside the previous arm reach or several positions on the bench have to be served. Equally useful when existing benches are converted for larger assemblies.
