The X-base carries IL series incident light lamps on a 100 mm fixing rod. Its four splayed legs give a large footprint at low height, so the lamp does not tip even with the gooseneck extended.
Compared with a bench clamp, the X-base is the right choice when the table edge is not accessible, the top is too thick, or the lamp moves between workstations regularly. The flat form slides under a microscope stage.
The fixing rod is standardised, so all IL lamps and accessories using this mount fit.
