When cutting cable to length what counts is how much hand force a cut costs and whether the conductor is crushed. The StepCut severs fine stranded copper and aluminium multi-core cables up to 15 mm dia. and needs up to 40% less effort than a standard cable shear of the same length.

Electrical installation, control cabinet and plant construction, service and maintenance. According to the manufacturer the shears are not suitable for steel wire and hard drawn copper conductors.

Standards and conformity

The cable shears comply with DIN EN 60900 and IEC 60900 for insulated hand tools used for live working. According to the manufacturer they contain no substances of very high concern under REACH. The RoHS directive does not apply.
