As soon as a component leaves the tape, it loses the packaging that protected it until then. The N1 hinged box takes over that job for small quantities. It offers an internal space of 16 x 12 x 15 mm and is made from dissipative plastic on which charge does not sit. Base and lid of this version are blue, and the lid is fixed to the box by its hinge.

Application

In goods receipt and the component store the boxes act as a compartment for counted quantities, in repair as a rest for desoldered and tested parts, in prototyping as a small kit for one single build. The colour separates stocks that would otherwise depend on labels alone, new material against returns for example. Inside the EPA the dissipative plastic remains part of the protection chain, and while carrying parts between workstations the closed lid keeps them in place.
