Working in warm halls with a wide foot rarely comes in one shoe. The SL 46 blue 2.0 in extra wide width 12 combines the open sandal cut with a last that offers volume. It sits one step above standard width 10. The protection class stays S1 to EN ISO 20345:2022 with a closed heel and an alu-tec aluminium cap rated for 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, plus ESD compliance to DIN EN 61340-5-1. EU 35 to 50.
What this model delivers on the floor
- The wearer's charge is drained in a controlled way instead of discharging into a component. The shoe is ESD compliant to DIN EN 61340-5-1. For that marking ATLAS guarantees a resistance below 100 megohms across the person, footwear and floor measuring chain, while the shoe standard itself only defines the antistatic band from 0.1 to 1000 megohms.
- S1 in plain words: closed heel area, antistatic build, 20 joules of energy absorption in the heel and a toe cap rated for 200 joules of impact energy. Even as a sandal the heel stays closed, only the forefoot area is open.
- An aluminium toe cap instead of steel. The alu-tec cap passes the same EN ISO 20345 test at 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, weighs less, shifts the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot and, being thermally neutral, forms no cold bridge inside the shoe.
- Width 12 is the extra wide build of this range. It is meant for wearers whose foot is pinched by the standard last, and it turns a complaint at the issue counter into protective equipment that is actually worn. Every protective feature stays identical to the standard width, only the volume of the last changes.
- Foot climate instead of a damp sock by the afternoon. The SportLine upper is a textile fabric that is both air-permeable and hydrophobic, so it breathes and repels splashes. Behind it work the aktiv-X functional lining, which moves moisture away and does not stain, and the clima-stream concept with its Klima Komfort insole.
- Cushioning for eight hours on your feet. The MPU INNOFLEX outsole guides force along the INNOFLEX LINE from heel to toe, the CLOUDZONE in the heel absorbs the impact and the large MPU tread areas return the stored energy into the next step. The 3D cushioning system of pressure-relieving insole and responsive MPU works against the load.

Standards and conformity
EN ISO 20345:2022, protection class S1, additional marking SR. That is how Atlas lists this model. Since the 2022 edition slip resistance on ceramic tile with detergent is a basic requirement for every safety shoe, and the additional SR confirms the passed test on ceramic tile with glycerine. The supplier data sheet still quotes the superseded marking S1 SRC to EN ISO 20345:2012. ESD compliant in the sense of DIN EN 61340-5-1, the standard for the electrostatic protected area. Personal protective equipment of risk category II under Regulation (EU) 2016/425, CE marked, EU declaration of conformity available from the manufacturer. Approved for orthopaedic insoles under DGUV rule 112-191, the marking inside the shoe is what counts. Made by the ATLAS shoe factory in Dortmund.
