Maintenance staff in an electronics plant move between clean area, workshop and warehouse. Swarf, screws and nails are on the floor there, and the shoe still has to be approved for the ESD workstation. The ankle-high lace-up boot A 585 XP from the Atlas Sneaker Line covers both: safety class S3 with metal-free penetration resistance and charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

Benefits on the shop floor

  • Safety class S3 in plain terms. S3 builds on S2 and adds penetration resistance and a profiled outsole. S2 in turn means a water-repellent upper, closed heel area, antistatic behaviour and energy absorption in the heel.
  • XP penetration resistance in aramid rather than a steel plate. The high-tech textile is metal-free, much lighter than a steel midsole and follows the natural torsion of the foot instead of blocking it. It also does not trigger metal detectors.
  • Steel toe cap with documented test values. Tested to at least 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345, anatomically shaped.
  • Dissipative to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The wearer's charge goes into the floor in a controlled way instead of discharging into an assembly, so one pair of shoes covers the EPA and the workshop.
  • Soft full-grain cowhide from the company's own tannery. Atlas processes carefully selected hides only, which noticeably shortens break-in time and reduces pressure points.
  • Sneaker sole technology and aktiv-X functional lining. The outsole is cut light and flexible, the lining regulates moisture, does not stain and resists abrasion. Approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191.
