Lined, static dissipative safety boot for the works yard, outdoor storage and the ESD protected area, certified to EN ISO 20345 as S3 CI SRC. The CI marking stands for cold insulation of the sole complex and resistance stays below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The outdoor sole carries a 4.5 mm deep lug profile.

Goods receiving, the yard and outdoor storage in winter ask for more than an indoor model. The ERGO-MED 846 XP is certified to EN ISO 20345 in class S3 CI SRC, insulates the sole complex against cold and still keeps the resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The walk from the cold yard to the ESD workstation therefore needs no change of footwear.

What defines this boot

  • Additional marking CI for cold insulation of the sole complex. Together with the pile lining that is the difference between a winter boot and a lined low shoe. The supplier sheet does not carry this marking.
  • S3 covers a closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel, antistatic behaviour, water penetration and water absorption of the upper and a cleated outsole. Added to that are the metal free XP insert and SRC, the highest grade of the previous slip resistance marking.
  • Waterproof full grain cowhide of around 2 mm plus a toe bumper protecting the front against abrasion. The steel toecap covers the 200 joules required by the standard.
  • Outdoor sole technology with a 4.5 mm deep lug profile, a torsion element and a force line. On wet yard surfaces, gravel and grass this profile grips where a flat indoor sole slides.
  • MPU REBOUND SYSTEM for cushioning. The midsole takes up the impact energy and returns it to the movement, which is noticeable over long walking distances.
  • From the ERGO-MED series and therefore approved under DGUV 112-191 not only for insoles but also for certified orthopaedic modifications such as sole and heel raises. Besides width 10 ATLAS lists widths W12, W13 and W14.

Applications

Goods receiving and dispatch, outdoor storage and the works yard, maintenance and plant service, outdoor assembly, plus the walk into the ESD protected area. It pays off wherever staff move between cold outdoor areas and production.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345, class S3 CI SRC. ESD to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Insole provision and certified orthopaedic modifications to DGUV 112-191. PPE risk category II, EU declaration of conformity available from the manufacturer.

ESD footwear drains the wearer's charge to the floor in a controlled way. For these models ATLAS guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm (10^8 ohms) measured person to shoe to floor according to DIN EN 61340-5-1. EN ISO 20345 contains no ESD test at all. It only defines the antistatic band from 10^5 to 10^9 ohms and is therefore not an ESD proof on its own. DGUV 112-191 sets 10^5 ohms (0.1 MOhm) as the lower limit so that limited protection against dangerous body current remains for work up to 230 V.

Sizes

Available in sizes 36 to 50. This article is standard width 10, which ATLAS already builds broad and foot friendly. The manufacturer also lists the model in W12 and in the special widths W13 and W14.
