ESD safety low shoe from the Atlas FLASH series for EPA workstations in electronics manufacturing. The person, shoe and floor resistance stays below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1, and the alu-tec aluminium toe cap withstands 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression. Safety class S1 with a mesh upper, width 10, sizes 36 to 49.

In electronics manufacturing the footwear helps decide whether an assembly passes final test. The FLASH 2600 keeps the person, shoe and floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and pairs that with an alu-tec toe cap rated for 200 joules of impact energy.

Why this model

  • Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The measurement covers the chain of person, shoe and floor, and that resistance stays below 100 MOhm. The wearer's charge drains away while walking instead of building up and discharging into an assembly.
  • 200 joule toe protection at low weight. The anatomically shaped alu-tec aluminium toe cap withstands 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345. Aluminium weighs less than steel, moves the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot and creates no cold bridge inside the shoe.
  • Safety class S1 in plain words. Closed heel area, antistatic properties and energy absorption in the heel, on top of the 200 joule toe cap. Antistatic means a through resistance between 0.1 and 1000 MOhm to EN ISO 20345. The lower limit also caps the risk of current passing through the body during work up to 230 volts.
  • Cushioning built for an eight hour shift. The MPU INNOFLEX system guides the load along the natural line of force from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel and the large MPU tread areas absorb energy and return it into the next step. Anyone who stands and walks all day notices the difference by the evening.
  • Foot climate across the full shift. The mesh upper is air permeable, the aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture, does not stain and resists abrasion. The clima-stream concept keeps the temperature inside the shoe close to the 32 °C at which the foot tires least.
  • Width 10, cut wider than usual. Atlas builds even the standard width 10 on a broad, foot-friendly last. For wearers who need more volume the multi-width system offers the same model in width 12.

Areas of use

The shoe is designed for dry indoor areas. Typical places of use are electronics manufacturing and EPA workstations, PCB assembly and rework, test bays and measuring labs, assembly and final inspection as well as order picking and dispatch. For permanently wet areas or floors with penetration risk, choose a higher safety class.

Standards and conformity

Certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in safety class S1 with the additional marking SR. The 2022 edition tests slip resistance on ceramic tile with detergent as a basic requirement, and the SR marking documents the extra test on ceramic tile with glycerine. Personal protective equipment of risk category II under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. ESD marking to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191. The manufacturer is ATLAS-Schuhfabrik GmbH und Co. KG, Frische Luft 159, 44319 Dortmund, Germany.
