ESD safety shoe ERGO-MED 735 XP S3S, soft nubuck leather, width 10 - Atlas 86500

Where nails, wire offcuts or swarf lie on the floor and the hall floor turns damp, an S1 shoe is not enough. The ERGO-MED 735 XP is the ESD safety shoe that Atlas already classifies under the current EN ISO 20345:2022 as class S3S with the additional requirement SR. Measured as the person, shoe and floor system to DIN EN 61340-5-1, the through resistance stays below 100 MOhm, so an assembly takes no discharge damage on the way to the machine.

EN ISO 20345 allows antistatic footwear anywhere between 100 kOhm and 1000 MOhm. For the ESD version Atlas additionally guarantees the narrower value below 100 MOhm, which is what an EPA set up to DIN EN 61340-5-1 asks for.

What sets this model apart

• Safety class S3S to EN ISO 20345:2022. That is level S2, meaning closed heel area, antistatic construction, energy absorbing heel and an upper tested against water penetration, plus a cleated outsole and a non metallic penetration resistant insert tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail.
• The 3.0 mm nail is the harsher test object. The older test with the 4.5 mm nail lets finer points through, exactly the ones that end up on the floor as wire remnants in electronics production.
• Penetration resistance comes from the metal free XP insert by Atlas. It covers the tread area over its full surface instead of leaving gaps at the edges, and it conducts no cold.
• Slip resistance SR, the additional requirement of the 2022 edition, tested on tile with glycerine. The old codes SRA, SRB and SRC were dropped with this edition of the standard.
• Certified for orthopaedic modifications to DGUV rule 112-191. An orthopaedic shoemaker may alter sole or heel without the shoe losing its approval. It is also approved for orthopaedic insoles.
• Soft nubuck leather from selected cattle hides, aktiv-X functional lining and the MPU INNOFLEX System with the MPU REBOUND SYSTEM for cushioning. Standard width 10, the same model is also available in width 12 and in special widths 13 and 14.
