Class S3 safety low shoe in sneaker cut for electronics manufacturing, assembly and warehousing. The ESD build keeps body-shoe-floor resistance to DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm, so the wearer charge drains continuously instead of at the component. Metal-free XP penetration resistance, steel toe cap rated 200 joules and 15 kN to EN ISO 20345, width 10, EU sizes 36 to 49.

In electronics manufacturing the component failure happens on the way between two workstations. The A 285 XP ESD keeps body-shoe-floor resistance to DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm and drains the wearer charge before it can discharge. That sits inside a low shoe of soft full grain cowhide leather that staff put on voluntarily.
What this model delivers
- The charge goes into the floor, not into the component. Atlas states a body-shoe-floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1 for its ESD footwear. The wearer is discharged continuously instead of building up a potential until the moment of contact with an assembly. EN ISO 20345 itself has no ESD test, it only defines the antistatic band from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm.
- Class S3 in plain terms. Closed seat region, antistatic properties and an energy-absorbing heel, plus a water-repellent upper, penetration resistance and a cleated outsole. S3 is the class for production, workshop and warehouse where nothing has to be added later.
- XP penetration resistance, metal-free. Instead of a steel midplate Atlas uses a high-tech textile containing aramid fibres. Protection against nails and swarf covers the full sole area, stays light and does not fight the natural torsion of the foot. Metal-free also means no cold bridge and no alarm at a security checkpoint.
- Steel toe cap, tested to EN ISO 20345. The anatomically shaped steel cap withstands 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. That corresponds to roughly 20 kg dropping onto the toe area from one metre.
- MPU REBOUND SYSTEM. The responsive MPU midsole absorbs heel strike and returns energy during roll-off. Anyone standing eight hours on concrete or covering long distances across the plant notices the difference by the end of the day.
- aktiv-X functional lining. The lining regulates moisture actively and lets the shoe dry out again after the shift. It does not stain, is skin-friendly and abrasion-resistant, which is what counts over months of daily wear.
- Approved for orthopaedic insoles. The model is suitable for orthopaedic insole fitting to DGUV rule 112-191. The marking inside the shoe is decisive. Staff with their own insoles do not have to switch to a special model.
