Not every workplace needs a puncture resistant midsole. Where no nails and no swarf lie on the floor it only costs weight. The alu-tec 62 2.0 leaves it out, keeps the aluminium toe cap with 200 joules and 15 kN to EN ISO 20345:2022 and stays dissipative to DIN EN 61340-5-1.
What sets this shoe apart
- Dissipative to DIN EN 61340-5-1: the shoe drains the wearer's static charge through the sole instead of carrying it to the next component. This is the basic requirement for an EPA to work at all.
- alu-tec aluminium toe cap to EN ISO 20345:2022, tested at a minimum of 200 joules impact energy and 15 kN compression. Aluminium weighs less than steel, shifts the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot and forms no cold bridge into the shoe.
- S2 does without a puncture resistant midsole. That saves weight and stack height and is the right choice where no nails or swarf lie on the floor, for example in assembly, inspection and warehousing.
- The MPU INNOFLEX sole system guides the force along the INNOFLEX line from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel and the energy absorbing MPU tread surfaces take up the impact and return it into the next step.
- SOFT nubuck leather from full grain cowhide about 2 mm thick, breathable and soft from day one. There is no long break-in period, which counts on a department order with many wearers.
- Standard width 10 in the ATLAS width system, plus the MPU REBOUND SYSTEM made up of a pressure relieving insole and responsive MPU sole. Anyone standing for eight hours notices it in the heel first.
- The aktiv-X functional lining actively regulates moisture, does not stain and is abrasion resistant. After the shift the shoe dries through quickly.
- Approved for orthopaedic insoles per DGUV rule 112-191. Anyone who wears an insole does not have to fall back on a safety shoe without approval.

Standards and conformity
- EN ISO 20345:2022, protection class S2 with the slip resistance SR tested in addition on tile with glycerine. S2 means a closed heel area, antistatic properties, an energy absorbing heel and resistance to water penetration and water absorption. A puncture resistant midsole is not part of it.
