Elastic Wrist Strap with 2 m Coiled Cord, 10 mm Stud, 4 mm Plug, Dark Blue - Desco 229987

A wrist strap that is ready to use out of the bag: elastic band in dark blue and yellow coiled cord come together. Conductive fibres on the inside make skin contact below 1 x 10⁵ ohms without any metal touching the skin. The 1 megohm resistor in the cord limits the current through the body in a fault.

Applications

Personnel grounding at seated ESD workstations in electronics assembly, repair, test and laboratories. Connect the cord to an earth bonding point (EBP), never clip it to the edge of a mat.

Standards

The 1 megohm resistor in the cord meets the IEC 61340-5-1 personnel grounding requirements, tested per ANSI/ESD S1.1. Test the complete system of person, band and cord regularly, ideally at the start of each shift with a wrist strap tester.
