EMIT Limit Comparator with 1 Gigohm Calibration for Combo Tester X3 and SmartLog Pro 2 - Desco 50426

A personnel tester is only as reliable as its test limits. With the EMIT 50426 limit comparator the ESD coordinator checks every 6 to 12 months that the Combo Tester X3, Combo Tester X3+ and SmartLog Pro 2 decide correctly at their set limits. The testers stay mounted on the factory floor, so there is no removal and no shipping. The 50426 succeeds the 50424 limit comparator and adds the range up to 1 gigohm.

Benefits

• On-site verification: no downtime at the EPA entrance, the tester stays where it is.
• New: 1 gigohm calibration: the 1G CAL setting recalibrates the 1 gigohm footwear limit of the Combo Tester X3 in the field (units with serial numbers ending in 2326001 or greater).
• All common limits: test points just below and above 100 kilohms, 750 kilohms, 1 megohm, 10 megohms, 35 megohms, 100 megohms and 1 gigohm.
• Both test circuits: wrist strap via test leads with banana plugs, footwear via the stereo plug at the foot plate jack or via test electrodes.
• NIST traceable calibration: the original calibration certificate can be downloaded from the manufacturer, and the values can be checked with an ohmmeter at any time.

Application

Periodic verification of wrist strap and footwear personnel testers as part of compliance verification. To check the footwear circuit of the SmartLog Pro 2 and Combo Tester X3+, the comparator is combined with the 50784 test electrode; the 1 gigohm calibration of the Combo Tester X3 requires two 50003 5-pound electrodes. The manufacturer recommends basing the frequency on the sensitivity of the handled components and calibrating the testers annually as a rule.
