Charge plate monitor CPM 8374 set to EN 61340-5-1, with battery and RS232 - A1-ESD EP0201028

The CPM 8374 charge plate monitor measures the voltage potential on its integrated plate electrode. A timer function determines the decay time from a preset voltage threshold down to a lower voltage. It integrates a high-voltage unit and a field meter working on the field-mill induction principle, providing the high input impedance of 10¹⁵ Ω needed to measure voltage potentials and decay times of air ionisers.

The device complies with the European EN 61340-5-1 and the American EOS/ESD S3.1. The high-voltage unit is isolated through a high resistance and is therefore touch-safe. Battery operation makes the CPM 8374 suitable for mobile use, while the mains connection allows stationary operation. It is operated by just two buttons with menu guidance, readings are stored in the internal EEPROM and can be read out via the RS232 interface.
