A service engineer arrives at a customer site in the morning and has to swap an assembly inside someone else's EPA. The clothing has to do two things at once. It has to meet the requirements of a zone the engineer does not control, and it has to look presentable at reception. Navy manages both without compromise.
Electrically the trousers work through 4 percent conductive yarn woven into a fabric of 48 percent cotton and 48 percent polyester. STFI measured a surface resistance of 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms, tested to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016. A weight of 170 g/m² keeps the garment in shape in the boot of a car and after a long day on the road.
Waist sizes 38 to 64 and suitability for industrial laundry turn this into an outfit for a whole service crew rather than a single engineer's private solution.
Your benefits
- Double rule pocket on the right: In field service the tools travel along. Two separate compartments take a folding rule and a slim screwdriver without the two knocking together while kneeling.
- Back pocket with press stud flap: Service tickets or an ID card stay in the pocket when the engineer climbs into a machine or sits in the car. The flap closes with a press stud.
- Comfort waistband with side elastic: Between driving, kneeling and standing at a control cabinet the effective waist changes constantly. The elastic absorbs that without belt adjustments.
- Documented 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms: Inside somebody else's EPA a defensible measured value helps more than a general claim of dissipation. The figure comes from STFI testing to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016.
- Embroidery and print up to 160 °C: Company logo and name can be applied. Light threads stand out well against dark navy, and a sample print beforehand is recommended.
- Navy forgives signs of use: Oil from a machine frame, dust from a control cabinet and cable abrasion barely show on dark blue. The trousers stay presentable across several days on site.
Construction in detail
The comfort waistband with side elastic works along when kneeling in front of an assembly. The front closes with a zip fly. Two side pockets sit at the front, a back pocket with a press stud flap at the rear and a double rule pocket for tools on the right. An ESD logo marks the garment visibly, which shortens the discussion at an unfamiliar plant entrance.

Lasting dissipation and wash resistance
The dissipation sits in the yarn, not in a finish applied to the surface. High grade silver yarn is processed in a method developed in house that binds the conductive thread into the weave, and the conductivity is retained after repeated washing and wearing. That is the precondition for keeping service trousers in circulation for years.
Material and fabric
Lint free compact cotton yarn with a polyester blend gives a cloth that takes up moisture and still keeps its shape. The 48 percent polyester share pays off in clothing that covers many kilometres in a car and many wash cycles. The low lint tendency helps when open assemblies are worked on at the customer site.
- 48 percent cotton, 48 percent polyester, 4 percent conductive yarn
- Fabric weight 170 g/m²
- Lint free compact cotton yarn
- Conductive yarn woven across the entire surface
Fit and size range
Navy runs in continental waist sizes 38 to 64 in steps of two, that is fourteen increments. Letter sizes are not used for this cut. Anyone kitting out a service crew will find the measurements in the size chart, which is filed as a PDF in the downloads tab of this page.
Navy on site
Navy is dark enough to swallow signs of use and restrained enough for a customer appointment. Compared with black it reads less harsh and combines with yellow or orange high visibility garments without making the overall look restless. For field service, commissioning and maintenance it is the practical middle ground between workshop and customer visit.

Applications
- Field service and commissioning inside customer EPA areas
- Maintenance of production equipment and test rigs
- Rework and repair of electronic assemblies
- Control cabinet build, wiring and plant cabling
- Goods receipt and dispatch of ESD sensitive assemblies
Care and service life
The trousers are suitable for industrial laundry, which counts for service clothing with a high wash frequency. The polyester share keeps waistband, seams and leg length dimensionally accurate over many cycles, and the conductivity of the woven silver yarn is retained. The sewn in care label governs.
Finishing and custom versions
Embroidery and printing up to 160 °C are possible, with a sample print recommended beforehand. Light threads and motifs stand out on navy, which helps with company logos in customer facing roles. A cargo pocket with a mobile phone compartment and further equipment options are made to order on request, as are colours outside the catalogue range.
Standards and testing
The trousers were tested at STFI to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016 for dissipation and surface resistance and passed. The measured range is 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms at 23 (+/- 1) °C and 25 (+/- 5) percent relative humidity. No testing against further ESD standards has taken place so far, and none is claimed here.
