Many plants mark areas and functions by the colour of the top: production, quality assurance, maintenance, visitors. For that system to stay readable, the trousers below need a colour that does not join in. Grey does exactly that job and leaves the coding to the shirts.
Technically these are the same trousers as in the other catalogue colours. 48 percent cotton and 48 percent polyester form a 170 g/m² fabric carrying 4 percent conductive yarn. Surface resistance determined at STFI is 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms, measured at a dry 25 percent relative humidity.
Anyone already stocking A1-ESD tops completes the lower half from the same range with these trousers. Continental waist sizes 38 to 64 cover the crew without resorting to special sizes, and the garment goes into industrial laundry with the rest of the workwear.
Your benefits
- Neutral under any area colour: Grey gets in the way of no colour code. Red shirts for visitors, blue for production and white for final inspection stay unambiguous.
- Sizes 38 to 64: Fourteen continental waist sizes in steps of two run from slim to heavy. A mixed crew needs only a single order line per size.
- Neither too light nor too dark: Coarse soiling is visible on grey while fine dust from stores and metrology rooms does not stand out. That extends wear time between two washes.
- Compact cotton, not pure synthetics: The cotton share takes up moisture and is less prone to odour. In a closed measuring room or calibration lab that difference is noticeable.
- Two side pockets: The front pockets stay accessible while seated at an inspection bench and do not press against the table edge when leaning over an assembly.
- Cargo pocket as an option: Anyone needing more storage can have a cargo pocket with a mobile phone compartment added on request, optionally in a contrast finish.
Material and fabric
The cloth uses lint free compact cotton yarn blended with polyester, 48 percent each, plus 4 percent conductive yarn. That split combines a pleasant feel against the skin with the dimensional accuracy trousers need after many washes. Compact spinning leaves few protruding fibre ends, so the fabric sheds little lint and carries few particles into stores and measuring rooms.

- Fabric weight 170 g/m²
- Lint free compact cotton yarn
- Conductive yarn woven across the entire surface
Construction in detail
The waistband is a comfort band with side elastic and adapts to the posture without any belt correction. The front closes with a zip fly. Two side pockets at the front and a back pocket with a press stud flap cover daily needs, and a double rule pocket sits on the right. An ESD logo makes membership of the dissipative outfit visible.

Fit and size range
Grey is available in continental waist sizes 38 to 64, in steps of two and without letter sizes. The side elastic absorbs intermediate measurements, which helps with an initial rollout without individual fittings. The size chart is provided as a PDF in the downloads tab.
Lasting dissipation and wash resistance
What matters is that the dissipative effect sits in the yarn. The silver yarn used here is of high grade and goes in through a process developed in house that binds it into the weave, with conductivity retained after repeated washing and wearing. The trousers therefore stay in service across many industrial laundry cycles.
Grey on the shop floor
Grey suits areas where different activities meet: component stores, metrology, calibration, training benches and the workshop. It reads matter of fact without being cold and combines with white, blue or red tops. For companies that want to run a single trouser colour across several departments, grey is the least demanding choice.

- Workshop and maintenance work with changing tasks
- Board population and final assembly of subassemblies
Care and service life
The trousers are suitable for industrial laundry. The polyester share keeps waistband, seams and leg length dimensionally accurate over many cycles, and the conductivity of the woven silver yarn is retained after repeated washing. A mid grey shows water marks less than a very light shade. The sewn in care label governs.
Finishing and custom versions
Embroidery and printing up to 160 °C are possible, with a sample print recommended beforehand. Both light and dark logos work on a mid grey. A cargo pocket with a mobile phone compartment and further selectable options are made to order on request, as are special colours and finishes outside the catalogue.
Standards and testing
Dissipation and surface resistance were successfully tested at STFI to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016, at 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms in a test climate of 23 (+/- 1) °C and 25 (+/- 5) percent relative humidity. Further ESD standards describe the context of an EPA concept, but no certification of these trousers against them exists.
