Residual pressure in a hydraulic line costs time before every connection because it has to be bled off first. Hyper HSP Cupla connects under residual pressure of up to 20.6 MPa, since a purge valve releases the pressure trapped in the plug while the pair is being coupled.

• Connects under residual pressure up to 20.6 MPa, so the usual bleeding step before coupling is no longer needed.
• The purge valve at the plug valve is depressed during connection and releases the residual pressure, which keeps the connection load low, for example 85 N on 4HP-PV at 10.0 MPa residual pressure.
• Automatic shut-off valves in both socket and plug prevent hydraulic oil from spilling out on disconnection.
• Nickel-plated special steel body in port sizes 1/4 inch to 1 inch, maximum tightening torque from 28 Nm to 180 Nm.
• Minimum cross-sectional area from 21 mm2 on 2HP-PV up to 203 mm2 on 8HP-PV, and once coupled the fluid may flow in either direction.
• Air admixture on connection of 0.7 mL on 2HP-PV up to 12.4 mL on 8HP-PV, which keeps the air carried into the oil circuit small.

Compatibility

Hyper HSP Cupla sockets and plugs are interchangeable with standard HSP Cupla plugs and sockets of the same size. The Hyper HSP part must always sit on the line that holds the residual pressure and the counterpart is a standard HSP Cupla part. Coupling is allowed under residual pressure but not while the line is being pressurized, otherwise incomplete connection, reduced durability or valve fly out may result.
