The plug side carries the coupling plugs of the plate and is mounted on the moving half of the changeover station. As the halves close, all plugs enter the socket plate at the same time. The letter P in the model code marks the plug version. Model MAM-A-3P12-CL, aluminium.
Where a changeover station has to release several media lines at once, coupling each line on its own costs time and invites mix-ups. The Nitto Kohki Multi Cupla Zerospill combines 2, 3 or 4 coupling elements in a single plate and parts them in one movement, without medium escaping at the parting line.
Versions with 2, 3 or 4 coupling elements per plate, so the element count can be matched to the number of lines at the station
All lines are connected and disconnected in one operation, which rules out swapping individual lines
Zerospill design for drip-free disconnection, the medium stays inside the line when the plates part
Aluminium plate bodies keep the weight of the moving unit down, the single MAM-A-ZEL coupling elements are made of brass
Seals in NBR or FKM, the sealing material is chosen to suit the medium carried
22 variants across the MAM-A and MAM-B plate ranges and the single MAM-A-ZEL coupling elements
Pick ZEROSPILL CUPLA when disconnection must not spill: it shuts off on both sides with spill reduction, and the catalogue figures put its spillage about 96 percent and its air ingress about 94 percent below SP CUPLA Type A, the two-way shut-off sibling in the same category. Its working pressure stops at 3.5 MPa {35 kgf/cm2}, so lines that go up to the 7.5 MPa {76 kgf/cm2} of TSP CUPLA or SP CUPLA Type A are outside its range. TSP CUPLA is straight through and TSP CUPLA Socket with Ball Valve shuts off on one side only at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2}, so neither of them holds the fluid back in both halves the way this series does.
