Aventics rodless cylinders enable linear movements within minimal installation space, as the carrier is guided laterally on the piston without requiring an axially extending piston rod. The range covers the R402002xxx/R402003xxx series as well as the RexMover 2771125000, which is designed as a profile cylinder with a laterally guided carriage. The overall length of the cylinder equals the available stroke, making rodless designs particularly suitable for long strokes and confined installation situations.
Rodless cylinders are selected by bore size (which determines force at a given pressure), stroke range, and guidance requirement. The R402 series offers multiple bore increments and stroke ranges. The RexMover is designed as a guided variant and is suitable for transport tasks with laterally positioned loads. When sizing, the permissible lateral load on the carriage must be taken into account. For long strokes, buckling supports and end-position cushioning should be included in the design.
Typical applications: Parts conveying and workpiece transport in assembly lines with limited installation space, horizontal sliding axes in gantry systems, linear axes in pick-and-place applications with longer strokes, and transfer movements on machine tools and conveyor systems.
