The PD 400/CNC-ready brings the mechanical precision of the classic PD 400 into the CNC world. The axes are driven by powerful stepper motors and backlash-free recirculating ball screws, so together with an external control unit you can turn contours, radii and balls in steel and non-ferrous metal with full repeatability.

Mechanically the machine is almost identical to the proven PD 400 and keeps its rigidity and accuracy.

• Stepper-motor axis drive with recirculating ball screws works without reversal play and makes the machine CNC-capable.
• Cross-ribbed cast iron bed with wide, ground prism guides ensures vibration-free running and high dimensional accuracy.
• Capacitor motor with 550 W output (870 W input) delivers torque even at larger cut depths.
• Spindle bore of 20.5 mm takes longer workpieces; the tailstock holds a rotating centre with an MT 2 mount.
• Centre distance of 400 mm and a three-jaw chuck clamping range of 3 to 100 mm cover a wide range of workpieces.
