A worn brush leaves oxide sitting on the soldering tip, solder wets poorly and the tip loses service life. This pair replaces both brass brushes of a QUICK 310 series tip cleaner in one go, so the cleaner works again over the full bristle height.

• Brass is softer than the iron plating of a soldering tip, so what comes off is oxide and solder residue rather than the protective layer.
