A 0.2 mm needle carries almost no mass, and that is where fine soldering usually fails, the temperature drops the moment the tip lands. The TSS08-I03 therefore places the needle on a short cone that puts the material volume directly behind the crown instead of stretching it along a long shank.

What the geometry does

• Short cone behind the needle keeps the heat reserve near the joint and supports the temperature on contact.
• Needle point of 0.2 mm for individual pads, fine pitch pins and corrections on narrow traces.
• Tinned length of 4 mm holds enough solder for several joints in a row without constantly feeding wire.
• Thermocouple in the tip lets the loop see the heat draw immediately and recover before the joint cools.
• Chip with the stored calibration value returns the station to the corrected temperature reading after every change.
• Tip and heater form one direct unit, with no plug interface in the thermal path.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

The choice for fine soldering on open boards, for 0402 and 0201 chip packages, for single pins in fine pitch rows and for prototype work at the bench. Where the joint instead sits low between tall components, the extended slim variant of the same needle gets there more easily. Supplied as a single cartridge tip without an iron, for the QUELKTSS80A iron of the QUICK TS8 and TS8+ stations.
