When the 1.6 mm tip turns sluggish on stranded wire and through hole leads, yet the 3 mm chisel already overhangs the pad, a middle size is missing. This cartridge fills it with a 2.4 mm chisel width on a 1.2 mm blade, fed by the 200 W version of the TSS10 range.

What the geometry does

• The 2.4 mm contact width offers around half again the footprint of the 1.6 mm chisels in the same range, so the joint reaches temperature sooner.
• A 1.2 mm blade keeps cross section behind the contact face, limiting the temperature dip when the tip lands.
• At this width the chisel is still easy to steer, unlike coarse special shapes.
• 200 W version for medium heat demand in daily production and service.
• Tip and heater are one unit in the TSS10 range, on the Quick TS10 roughly 3 seconds to 300 °C are possible, reference is the 1.6 mm tip.
• Thermocouple inside the tip and a chip holding the calibration value, so the reading is right after a change without retrimming.

Applications

Through hole parts, board to board connections, small and medium connector contacts, cable terminations and stranded wire in workshop, service, assembly and rework. Delicate work on small pads still favours the 1.0 and 1.6 mm shapes, cable lugs and ground planes the wide 300 W versions.
