A large bevel face only helps if it can actually reach the joint. This cartridge therefore keeps the 3.0 mm diameter with its 45 degree bevel but tapers the tip body ahead of it, so tall neighbouring parts do not block access. In power terms it belongs to the 200 W version of the TSS10 range.

What the geometry does

• The 3.0 mm working face is retained, so no contact area is lost on cable terminations and larger pads.
• The narrow build reduces the clearance needed beside the tip, which matters around connectors, heat sinks and upright electrolytics.
• The 45 degree angle allows a flat approach and keeps the joint in view.
• 200 W version for fine to medium heat demand, laid out for controlled transfer.
• Tip and heater are one unit in the TSS10 range, on the Quick TS10 roughly 3 seconds to 300 °C are possible, reference is the 1.6 mm tip.
• Thermocouple inside the tip and an integrated calibration chip, so the station shows the right value again after a change.

Applications

Pads, tracks, through hole leads, connector contacts, cable terminations and stranded wire, above all on densely populated boards and inside tight enclosures. Where space allows, the standard 3.0 mm bevel does the same job with more material behind the face.
