The SAUTER HMM is a portable Leeb hardness tester with an external type D impact sensor for the 170 - 960 HL range. It tests in all directions (360 degrees) and converts automatically to Rockwell, Vickers, Brinell, Shore and tensile strength. A hardness reference block (790 +/- 40 HL) is included.

The SAUTER HMM measures the hardness of metal parts by the rebound method: a spring-driven module is fired at the test object, its speed loss is measured and converted into Leeb hardness values. The external type D sensor covers the 170 - 960 HL range at 1 HL readability.
