Quick connect coupling Small Cupla MS-5, brass - Nitto Kohki 590318100

Laboratory instruments and densely packed pneumatic assemblies leave no room for a standard coupling. The Nitto Kohki Small Cupla works up to 1.0 MPa with a socket sleeve of only 14 mm outside diameter, and a plug starts at 9 g.

Series comparison

Take SMALL CUPLA where a 14 mm OD sleeve and one hand push-to-connect matter on an air or water line at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} and a one-way shut-off socket is acceptable. MICRO CUPLA and SUPER CUPLA share that rating and valve type, while COMPACT CUPLA and CUBE CUPLA offer two-way shut-off at the same 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} when the plug side has to hold the fluid as well; note that fluid flows out of the plug side of a SMALL CUPLA on disconnection, which matters on water. For air lines above 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2}, HI CUPLA, HI CUPLA 200 and LINE CUPLA 200 are rated 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2}.

Compatibility

Sockets and plugs of the range connect to each other regardless of end configuration. Air flows in either direction once coupled, and vacuum operation down to 53.0 kPa applies only in the connected state. The Tube Fitter version is not suitable for water.

Standards and compliance

End connections come in the 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch thread sizes (Rc 1/8, Rc 1/4, R 1/8, R 1/4), the sealing material is nitrile rubber (NBR, marked SG).

• Note: Fluid will flow out from the plug side when disconnected. Take necessary precaution if the fluid is water.
